Well Over A Month...

...since my last post here, and to anyone who might happen to stop by here periodically -- my apologies.

The month of January literally flew by it seems, with several events taking place. To be brief, they were (in no particular order and off the top of my head):

  • One-Act Rehearsals
  • A Family Wedding
  • One-Act Rehearsals
  • Regular Work
  • Sleep
  • One-Act Rehearsals
  • Regular Work
  • One-Act Competition

As you can tell, One-Act related items really chew up most of my January. This year was particularly challenging due to the nature of the material (Shakespeare) we were performing. It took much more time than in previous years.

All-in-all, January was a Good Month...and due to my bit of writer's block (when I finally get a chance to sit and put stuff here), I really don't have much to say about January.

We (One-Act) did perform at the Sub-Section competition, this year held for us in a new location (due to an administrative change where we no longer compete with the same initial schools). This was an exciting and nerve-wracking challenge for everyone. The troupe did quite well, I believe, but not well enough to proceed to the Section competition. It happens, and they were all somewhat relieved that after all the work it was finally over. smile

What that means for February is that we'll once again be taking the voluntary trip to the Twin Cities (specifically St. Paul) to watch the State Festival at the College of St. Catherine. They're all quite stoked about that.

But they're more excited about what will be taking place before the State Festival. We're going to see Les Miserables at the Ordway on February 8 (this upcoming Wednesday). It's on the final official tour, and just happens to be in the area! I managed to order tickets for the event some time ago, and for those who wanted to go -- it's an actuality. They'll be seeing a real Broadway show.

So, it means what normally would be a one-night stay in a hotel will be a two-night stay, but it should be quite the experience for them.

Anyway, that's about all for now. Until next time...
