2007 One-Act Play State Festival

Basic Information
Parent Permission Form
This MUST BE TURNED IN NO LATER THAN NOON on Wednesday, 07 February 2007. If you do not have this turned in by that time, you will not be allowed to come along!

Travel Information
We will leave on Thursday morning (around 5:30AM), watch the day's worth of shows and stay at a hotel overnight, watching Friday's shows as well. We will return then Friday evening (9-10PM).
We'll be staying at the AmericInn in Richfield, essentially 1 mile from the Mall of America (to give an idea of exactly where) in Bloomington (technically Richfield proper). This is the same location we've been staying at for the last several years. We have all been very happy with their accomodations and they have treated our small student group well in the past. I have not included the hotel phone number; however, my cell phone number is on the Parent Permission Form in the event a student (without his/her own cell phone) needs to be contacted in an emergency.
Expenses Information
Based upon what I know right now, here's an outline of our (anticipated) costs per person. This year, I've based it on a student attendance of 6. Please make note of the ^ notes below the chart for important information about what these figures mean.

^^: The Estimated/Optional Totals per Day are a gross estimation based upon previous years. The estimated amount is what students will almost certainly need to bring with them (food and admission to the State Festival). The optional amount is a sum of the estimate with a suggested spending cash factor (which would need to be determined between the student and parent).
PLEASE let me know if there are any questions or concerns about the values I noted above.
The travel expense and admission charge categories are relatively fixed amounts based upon the information from years past and the posted admission charges for the State Festival. In previous years we've used funds from the Drama Activity Account to defray the expense of Hotel and Travel for students. Upon student approval, the participants may elect to do this again. This is not guaranteed, however.
Spending cash is a completely arbitrary (and optional) amount. Many students in the past have not purchased anything unrelated to the trip. Some may wish to purchase items like programs at the festival, which (in years past) have run less than $5. My personal estimate for spending cash (for the entire trip) is $30-50.
Hotel rooms are divided as expected: One room for girls, one for guys. The price of two rooms is divided evenly by the number of students.
Lastly, the only cash students will have to bring with them is for admission, food, and any applicable spending cash. The travel and hotel expenses will need to be paid for after the trip once those amounts have been finalized.

- 5:45AM - Pick up in Renville
- 6:45AM - Eat at Bump's, Glencoe
- 7:30AM - Leave Bump's
- 8:45AM - Arrive at St. Kate's, purchase tickets
- 9:00AM - First State Festival production begins
- 12:15PM - Find a place to eat
- 1:30PM - More shows at State
- 5:00-10:00PM - Leave St. Kate's, return to hotel, free Time (Mall of America, Pool, etc.)
- 10:00PM - Bedtime!
Friday, 09 February 2007
- 6:30-7:00AM - Wake-up! Breakfast/Showers, etc.
- 8:00AM - Check-out (be ready to go)
- 8:45AM - State Festival Day #2
- 12:15PM - Find a place to eat
- 1:30PM - More shows at State
- 5:00PM - Leave St. Kate's, go to Olive Garden for food
- 9:45PM - Drop off in Renville
- 10:00PM - Drop off in Sacred Heart
